Subd Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 26, 2026

This policy explains how Subd, operated by Jiri Urbasek in Czechia ("we"), handles information when you use the Subd app for iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Subd helps you track subscriptions and trials that you enter yourself. It does not require a Subd account or connect to your bank.

Information you enter

Subd stores the subscription and income details you enter, including names, prices, currencies, dates, notes, provider details, account identifiers, payment history, and preferences, on your device. If iCloud is available and enabled for Subd, Apple's CloudKit syncs this data to your private iCloud database so it can appear on your other devices. We do not run a server that receives this content and cannot access your private iCloud records. Apple handles iCloud data under its Privacy Policy.

Subd also keeps app settings and a limited widget snapshot on your device. Reminder and trial notifications are scheduled locally. Their content may appear on your device's lock screen according to your notification settings.

Analytics and session replay

The current Subd build configuration has analytics disabled until a Subd-specific PostHog project token is configured. If analytics is enabled in a later build, PostHog may receive app interaction events, screen views, device type, app version, locale, counts of subscriptions and income sources, selected currency codes, and purchase-flow outcomes. These data help us understand use of the app and improve it. Events are designed to omit monetary amounts and user-entered names, notes, URLs, and account identifiers.

That later configuration may also record session replays of app screens. Subd applies masks to views with sensitive content, but its replay configuration does not mask every image or text input by default. We cannot promise that every sensitive value is excluded from a replay. If analytics is enabled, we will review the live configuration and update this policy as needed before release. PostHog's Privacy Policy describes its own handling of data.

Purchases and messages

Apple processes Subd Pro purchases and provides the app with information needed to determine your entitlement. We do not receive your payment card details. If you email us for support, we receive the address, message, and any information you choose to include. We use it to respond and resolve your request.

Why data is used and who receives it

Your device and, when enabled, iCloud process the content you enter to provide Subd's features. Apple processes iCloud sync and App Store purchases under its own terms. If analytics is enabled, PostHog processes usage data on our behalf to help us improve the app. We do not sell your subscription or income records. We may disclose information we actually hold if required by law.

Retention, deletion, and your choices

You can edit or delete records in Subd. Data on your device remains until you remove it or the app's local data. If iCloud sync is enabled, records may remain in your private iCloud storage and on other synced devices until you delete them there. Removing the app from one device does not necessarily remove iCloud data. You can manage iCloud storage through your Apple Account. Support messages are retained as needed to handle the request and related obligations. If analytics is later enabled, its retention will depend on the PostHog project settings; contact us to ask about data we hold.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, or object to processing of personal data. Contact us to make a request about information we hold. We cannot retrieve your private iCloud records for you. You may also raise a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children and changes

Subd is not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children. We may update this policy as the app changes; the date above will show the latest version.
